–I have worked in a variety of marketing, communications and PR  roles since graduating from University in 1992.

I’m creative and professional and have an excellent track record in achieving commercial success through robust marcomms activity. You can see more about me and my diverse work experience on my LinkedIn profile.

I’ve been freelance since 2010 after returning to the UK from a brief stint living and working in Sydney, Australia. I launched Dead Good With Words in 2018 to focus on what I’m best at – wordy stuff. I tell stories, not tall tales, but brand stories. I tell people who you are and what you do in the right language and tone of voice.

I particularly like writing web copy, press releases and newsletters as well as email marketing that packs a punch but I also write annual reports, white papers, awards entries, CVs, investor profiles and more.

I’m currently based in Oldham, Greater Manchester but I work 100% remotely.  I work with clients in the UK and English speaking countries. I specialise in plain English. I’m dead good with words, some might even say ‘award winning’.

Outside of work I love reading (as one would assume given my love of words), gardening (there is nothing more satisfying than seeing stuff grow, and if you can eat the stuff even better!), upcycling and recycling, nature (full stop), the environment and our impact on it, cooking, and my pets.  I have a long-standing desire to self-build an eco bungalow to PassivHaus standards. In short, I’m a bibliophile, biophile and botanophile.

Get in touch and I’ll write some dead good stuff for you.
